Resident Meal Plans


As of Summer 2017, students, faculty, and staff will now purchase their meal plan on the University Housing portal, StarRez. Follow the list of steps below to purchase or please contact University Housing at (337) 482-6471. If you would like to make a change to the plan you have already selected please email your request to or contact University Housing.

How to Purchase:
1) Log onto your ULink
2) Click the "Campus Services" Tab
3) Click the "StarRez Housing Portal" link 

4) Click the Application Page 
5) Select Commuter Meal Plan Options 
6) Choose your desired meal plan 

In order to meet your campus dining needs, we have designed the following meal plans for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Meal Plans for the 2017-2018 academic year

Cajun Performance Plan      $2,059/semester 

12 meals per week + 5 training tables + 4 flex meals

Cajun Freedom Plan          $2,059/semester

Unlimited dining room meals + 4 flex meals + 75 DB

Cajun Select Plan                 $1,647/semester

14 meals per week + 4 flex meals + 250 DB
Cajun Classic Plan                 $895/semester                               

5 meals per week or 5 flex meals + 300 DB

Cajun Commuter Plan            $189/semester                               

9 flex meals (per semester) + 150 DB

Cajun Community Plan          $349/semester

Faculty and Staff

18 meals (per semester) + 275 DB

Refillable mug with 20% discount on fountain or drip beverages


All students living in the traditional residence halls are required to purchase one of the following: Cajun Performance Meal Plan, Freedom Meal Plan, or a Select Meal Plan.

Students with 30 hours or less are required to purchase one of the following:  Cajun Performance Meal Plan, Freedom Meal Plan, or a Select Meal Plan.

Students with 31+ hours are required to purchase one of the following: Cajun Performance Meal Plan, Freedom Meal Plan, a Select Meal Plan, or a Classic Meal Plan


Graduate students living on campus are required to purchase any one of the meal plans listed, but must purchase a minimum of a Classic Meal Plan.
Commuter students can purchase any one of the meal plans.


Declining Balance Dollars (DB) are the values included in all meal plans. The declining balance dollars can be used “just like cash” on the Cajun Card, and when used, purchase is TAX FREE. DB can be used at any of the retail dining outlets on campus that are operated by UL Lafayette Dining Services. Declining balance will carry over from semester to semester. You can always add additional declining balance, in increments of $25, by visiting our Shop Now tab. Click this link to to add DB now!

Meals per week are available to students Sunday through Saturday at Cypress Lake Dining Room. Please note, you have one week until after the start of the semester to change your meal plan. Students may change plan at UL Lafayette Dining Services Office.

Any lost or stolen student ID card can, and will be replaced by the Cajun Card Office for a $20.00 fee.

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable, and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please refrain from leaving the dining facilities with dishes or utensils.
  • Remember that meal plans are non-transferable and can only be used by the purchaser.
